What is Pre-Workout

When working out, you find feel fatigued or do not have the desire to get up and start.  This is exactly where pre-workout is a perfect option for you.  However, I am not an expert on pre-workout because I have not taken all of them or feel I have a good understanding of the best supplements for you.  So in this blog, I will be linking other posts that I feel will help better your understanding.     1.  WHAT, WHEN, WHY: PRE-WORKOUT               This is a great blog for just understanding exactly what pre-workout is and some of the things that are the ingredients for pre-workout.  This is important to know because some people want to know what is going into their bodies.  This blog also discusses the best times to take pre-workout and why.       2.  Top 7 Best Pre-Workout for Men: Supplements for Muscle Gain, Weight Loss, and More               This blog is a really great blog that gives some of the best pre-workout supplements that are used for different things.  Another thing that t

Personal Interview with a Role Model For Me

I think that most of the time we do not look at our friends as role models or someone to look up to, but rather as peers or equals.  However, this is different for me with one of my friends who I asked a few questions.  This is the guy that got me started on my workout journey and is even more dedicated than me and knows about every ingredient of every food that he puts into his body.  So for this blog, I am interviewing my friend Nick. The first question that I asked was, "Do you have any tips for people that are trying to get into working out?" Nick answered, " I tried to have someone go with me at first.  It was hard to have the motivation every day to get up and go do something so I defiantly recommend having someone to do it with.  Another thing was just figuring out what worked for me.  I am the type of person that really enjoyed getting up early and that way I could be done for the day.  At first, I couldn't lift heavy weights or run 2 miles but you just have

The Fitness Industry Will Take a Hit with the Urge to get out of your Home

One thing that I hate to admit, but I believe will happen is people are going to stop working out or give up their fitness journey.  My first reason for believing this is due to the fact that the lockdown from Covid is finally coming to a close so people are starting to travel more, work at an office again, or even go hang out with friends.  These reasons listed above are going to take away from the free time that we all had during the pandemic and I think that this will be the cause of a decline in working out.  During Covid, everyone had nothing else better to do, but now people are going to want to get out of their house and will have less time for something like working out.   This prediction of people not working out as much is a reason I wanted to start this blog as well.  I want people to continue their fitness journey and continue to exercise frequently and that is why I have given some tips on how to work out fast and without any of the pain of going to a gym.  I also believe

The Problems with Exercise Equipment in Particular Hammer Strength

There are many reasons people do not work out, however, I think that one of the main issues is the price of some of the exercise equipment.  One company in particular that I want to talk about is Hammer Strength.  This company is overpriced machinery and yet you still see their products everywhere.  Here are just a few of the machines or pieces of equipment with their price point: Hammer Strength Olympic Flat Bench ($2,249) Hammer Strength VKR Vertical Knee Raise ($1549)  This is a product that I think you could build with stuff laying around your house Fixed Barbell set 20-60 pounds ($1549) These prices are absolutely absurd and a company like this can build these machines for a fraction of the price and then up-charge like crazy.  As well as this, you think if you were to spend that much money on a piece of equipment, you would get it in a few days.  No, it will take at least two weeks and could even be four.   The main product that caught me by surprise was the flat bench, you could

5 of the Best Dumbbell Lifts for your Chest

There are tons and tons of workouts out there for your chest.  However, I feel that some of these workouts require tons of equipment or are difficult to master, so here is a list of what I believe are the best five dumbbell chest workouts.  These are also all workouts that you can perform with just a bench and dumbbells.  This is equipment that you could have at your home.  This chest workout will work out your full chest including the lower, top, and middle.  It is important to exercise the whole chest. 1. Dumbbell Bench Press     Obviously, this was going to be on the list.  This is probably one of the most simple workouts to perform and all you need is a flat bench and some dumbbells.  To perform this, you will lay down flat on the bench with your feet on the ground and then push up with your arms, and then back down.  Your arm movement is similar to when performing a push-up.  With this workout, do whatever weight feels comfortable to you, but also will challenge you and make you

When should I do cardio?

One thing that I have never agreed with when it comes to the fitness "experts" is when you should do your cardio workout.  Many of them say that you should do your strength or weight training and then perform your cardio workout.  However, I have done both cardio before weights and cardio after weights and I feel that one is a lot better than the other.  I am easily on the side of waking up in the morning going outside and getting a nice jog in.  I noticed when I performed cardio first, that I felt more energized during my strength training and I also felt more awake.  If I just started doing strength training, I felt myself being tired and losing focus easily.  As well as that, when I performed my cardio first, I thought of it as a way to stretch out my entire body.  It loosens you up and you will feel a lot more ready for whatever else you have planned for the day.   So basically, I am saying that I completely disagree with the people that say you should lift first.  I bel

Charlie Hunnam or better known as King Arthur

There is a huge misconception in the world that the actors we see on TV or in movies are the way they look because they have access to better gyms, trainers, and diets than we do.  I think a great example of how this misconception is wrong is by looking at the actor Charlie Hunnam.  If you do not know who this is, he is probably best known for being King Arthur in King Arthur Legend of the Sword  and also Jax Teller in Sons of Anarchy.  The reason why I am bringing him up is that he does not have a trainer or use the fanciest weights.  He said in multiple interviews that he works out by body weight.  Some of the things that he does are: push-ups sit-ups squats planks  wall sits dips twenty minutes of cardio These are all workouts that don't require a gym.  Now I want you to get a mental image of what you think he looks like, after you have done that just use a quick google search and look for him.  He is a perfect example of what can be done with body weight alone.       The next

What is a Calorie Deficit?

When people first start working out, they might look up "How do I lose Weight" or "How do I lose Body Fat", they will see something like they will need to be in a calorie deficit.  However, what exactly does this mean?  This is a term that will be very crucial in losing weight.  You can run 5 miles and work out for two hours in a day, but if you consume more calories than you burned from those workouts you will not lose weight.  So in the simplest terms, a calorie deficit is consuming fewer calories than needed for your body to maintain its same body weight.  Another way to describe this is your body burns a certain number of calories per day from just being alive.  You also burn calories from exercise.  So to enter a calorie deficit, you need to eat fewer calories in a day than the two of those things (calories burned from being alive and exercise) added together.  This is also not a one-day fix. Entering a calorie deficit might only cause you to lose one pound a

How to Start Workout at Home

There are many reasons why people do not work out, being they are scared to go to the gym, they are too busy during the day, or even they do not believe that have a big enough space at home to fulfill all of their workout needs.  However, I am here to tell you that there is not a huge need to go to the gym, you do not need hours to work out, and you do not need a humungous space filled with machines and all of that extra stuff.  In order to start working out, you need two things: Your body weight A willpower to keep doing the simple things I am going to tell you To start working out at home, all you need to do is push-ups, sit-ups, and cardio.  Yes, this is only the start and you will probably need some equipment in the future, but right now we are only focused on how to get started.  This is the same exact way that I started and I will tell you how I did it.  The first thing that I did was before every shower I took I either did 30 push-ups, 30 sit-ups, or a combination of both.  As w

About Muscleman

Hello, I am Muscleman and I am writing this blog to help people get started on their fitness journey.  I am a 21-year-old college student.  I am writing this blog because I know that going to a public gym can be daunting for the first time and many people want to work out in the privacy of their own homes.  Also, you might just have no idea where to start.  I would spend hours searching and reading tons of different articles and still feel like I didn't know where to start.  So this blog will be the place where you can get all that information in one place.  Whether you need to find out about a workout plan, or just some exercises or workouts to get you started.  I plan to cover everything from what time I felt was most beneficial for me to work out to different types of exercises that worked for me.  This is my first time writing a blog so it might not be the best at the start but I am willing to listen to any suggestions.  I just like you did not know where to start but have bee
